Buy Avianca Flights with Alternative Airlines

Avianca has been the national airline carrier of Colombia since 1919. It is the largest airline in Colombia and the second largest in Latin America. Avianca is part of the Synergy Group that incorporates Ocean Air (Brazil) and VIP (Ecuador). With its subsidiaries which include Avianca Brasil and Avianca Costa Rica, Avianca has the most extensive network of destinations in Latin America and is one of the main airlines connecting South America with the rest of the world. Operating from its hub in Bogotá to over 25 destinations in Colombia, and more than 40 destinations in the Americas and Europe. In 2019, the airline is celebrating its 100th anniversary oldest continuously operating airline in the Western Hemisphere.

In 2009, Avianca merged with TACA and took on several of its routes and services. This marked one of the biggest airline mergers in history, as TACA was historically one of South America's largest airlines. However, since 2013, TACA has been operating as Avianca El Salvador. Avianca also had a Peruvian subsidiary called Avianca Peru, however, this airline ceased operations in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
