Satena is a Colombian regional airline based in Bogota and operates flights throughout Colombia. The airline was launched by the Colombian Government in 1962 to provide air transportation to the remoter regions of Colombia. By 2007 the airline has grown into a major regional carrier operating a large number of domestic services on a very modern fleet of small commuter aircraft.
The airline flies to over 35 destinations in South America. Key destinations include Cali, Bucaramanga, Barranquilla, Medellin, Pasto and Tumaco. Online Check-In
Online check-in is available on the Satena web check-in page. To complete online check-in, passengers will need to enter the relevant details of their booking between 24–2 hours before their flight is scheduled to depart.
Airport Check-In
Passengers can check-in at the airport for their flight by visiting one of the check-in agents and the check-in desk. The airport check-in deadline is one hour before scheduled flight departure time if the passenger has baggage to drop and 45 minutes before scheduled flight departure time if the passenger only has carry-on baggage or no baggage at all.

Passengers are entitled to one item of carry-on baggage and one personal item. Carry-on baggage must not exceed 5kg in weight and must fit within the dimensions of 43 cm x 34 cm x 20 cm. Personal items must fit within the dimensions of 15 cm x 20 cm x 10 cm.

Satena transports more than 1,000,000 people in 2017
Although the number of domestic passengers carried by the airline reduced slightly by 0.3%, The Oficina de Transporte Aéreo (OTA) announced an increase of 12% of passengers using the airline in 2017. This the first year that the number of people on Satena services has risen above 1 million, as well as the first year that revenue exceeded $200 million. Due to this, the airline has been given the go-ahead to widen its operation, already offering 36 destinations in Colombia.
