Carry-on Baggage

Passengers on Sunrise Airways flights are given a free carry-on baggage allowance of 7kg per person. This is strictly one bag per person, with the maximum overall dimensions of 127 cm. In addition to this, Sunrise Airways allows passengers to take a maximum of three personal items, which must fit either in the overhead baggage compartment or under your seat.

Checked Baggage

Passengers on Sunrise Airways flights are given a free checked baggage allowance of 23kg. On routes to Cuba, passengers are given an extra 7kg of free baggage allowance (30kg overall).

In addition to this, passengers can also purchase up to three piece of additional baggage on any Sunrise Airways flight.

Airport Check-In

If passengers don't have access to online check-in, they can check-in at the airport by visiting one of the Sunrise Airways check-in counters. Airport check-in closes 40 minutes before scheduled flight departure time on international flights and 15 minutes before scheduled flight departure time on domestic flights. However, Sunrise Airways recommend that passengers arrive at the airport least two hours before departure time for international flights and at least one hour before departure for domestic flights, in order to allow for check-in, baggage drop and security check.

Sunrise Airways launches new service between Haiti and Curacao

Haiti-based Sunrise Airways announced its intent to launch new nonstop service between its hub at Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince (PAP) and Hato International Airport in Curacao (CUR) beginning November 28, 2017.

The new twice-weekly service, the carrier’s first-ever flights to/from Curacao, will operate as follows:

“Curacao has been on our wish list for route expansion since our start as a commercial airline in 2012,” said Philippe Bayard, President of Sunrise Airways. “The route shows tremendous potential for growth on a point-to-point basis between Haiti and Curacao, while also opening up some very attractive connectivity options within our existing route structure. Sunrise Airways will deploy both its Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A320 aircraft along its new Curacao route. Both aircraft feature two classes of service – business and economy. Maximum seating for the Boeing 737 is 168 passengers (18 seats in business class, 150 in economy), while the Airbus A320 can accommodate a total of 150 passengers (12 seats in business class, 138 in economy).

Sunrise Airways launches nonstop service from Miami to Haiti

First-ever nonstop flights connecting Haiti with Central Florida also launched

Haiti-based Sunrise Airways unveiled flight schedules and pricing for its new nonstop service from Miami International Airport (MIA) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince (PAP), Haiti beginning October 17, 2017.

Notably, the new flights from Orlando represent the first-ever nonstop flights connecting Haiti with Central Florida.

Northbound and southbound fares along both routes start at just US$399 round-trip inclusive of all taxes and service fees.

Flights from Miami will operate 3x’s weekly, while passengers to/from Orlando will have a choice of four weekly flights.

Sunrise Airways Accepts Delivery of New Boeing 737 at Orlando International Airport

Sunrise Airways (IATA: S6, ICAO: KSZ) recently accepted delivery of the latest addition to its fleet, a next generation 168-seat Boeing 737-800, at Orlando International Airport (MCO). The jet aircraft will deploy along new Sunrise Airways routes to Orlando and Miami from the airline’s hub in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Sunrise Airways’ new service to/from Orlando begins October 18, 2017, while its Miami flights launch November 14, 2017.

“We expanded our fleet to include this new Boeing 737 to provide exceptional passenger comfort and cargo capabilities on our new flights between Haiti and Florida, so it’s very fitting that we should take initial delivery here in Orlando” said Philippe Bayard, CEO of Sunrise Airways.

The new 3x’s weekly service marks the carrier’s first-ever flights to/from the U.S. and the first-ever nonstop service connecting Orlando and Haiti. Sunrise Airways will deploy an Airbus A320 aircraft along its new Orlando–Port-au-Prince route. The aircraft will feature two classes of service – business and coach – with maximum seating for 150 passengers. 

 

August 2016

Sunrise Airways announced it had entered the final phase of its application process towards the launch of its first flight to Jamaica

The new flights proposed by Sunrise Airways from Jamaica will connect the three international airports with destinations in Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Cuba. Sunrise Airways expects to receive final approval from the Jamaican Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) by September 1, 2016 for the launch of its new Jamaica flights during the fall of 2016. Sunrise Airways will deploy its flagship aircraft the ATR 42-320 on its new routes to Jamaica. Other airlines flying to the Dominican Republic include flycana, Liat and Dominican Wings

Sunrise Airways expanded its service to Cuba on February 29, 2016, with the launch of its first-ever flights to Camaguey. The new route is the first to feature the carrier’s new 46-seat ATR 42-320 aircraft, which was added to the Sunrise fleet February 26, 2016. 

New Sunrise Airways flights to/from Camaguey will operate twice per-week. The first and only Haitian-owned airline to be awarded a Part 129 Operating Permit, Sunrise Airways (IATA: S6, ICAO: KSZ) is rising to meet the progressively expanding demand for safe, reliable, and affordable air travel throughout the Western Caribbean, operating daily scheduled passenger service connecting key gateways across the region with the world. From its hub in Port-au-Prince, the Haitian-owned carrier currently serves Santo Domingo (JBQ), Santiago de Cuba (SCU), and Cap Haitien (CAP).

 

Haitian airline Sunrise Airways announced the expansion of its fleet with new aircraft ATR 42-320 (42 to 50 seats depending on the configuration). The company said it expected its delivery by the end of February 2016. Sunrise Airways operated flights so far in the Caribbean with aircraft Jetstream 32 EP 19 seat to and from Santo Domingo. Sunrise Airways owns and operates a fleet of Jetstream 32 EP aircraft offering leather seating comfort and a lot of luggage space in the cabin for a maximum capacity of 19 passengers.

Based in Port-au-Prince with a maintenance facility dedicated to Santiago, Dominican Republic, Sunrise Airways is owned by businessman and philanthropist Haitian recognized, Philippe Bayard.
