About Luxair
Luxair is the flag carrier airline of Luxembourg with its headquarters and homebase at Luxembourg-Findel International Airport.
The airline currently offers scheduled services in Europe, North Africa, the Mediterranean and Middle East, in addition Luxair offera charter and seasonal services.
Founded in 1962 Luxair currently stands as Luxemburg's only passenger carrying airline.
Luxair currently operate to 45 European cities and six destinations in North Africa, although many of the routes are summer only carrying holidaymakers from the area surrounding Luxemburg on their annual vacations.
The year round destinations include Vienna, Nice, Paris, Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Saarbrucken, Dublin, Milan, Rome, Turin, Barcelona, Madrid, Geneva, London City.
Luxair, as of November 2015, have a total fleet size of 18 aircraft. These include Boeing 737-700/800, Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and Embraer ERJ 145, although all Embraer aircraft are to be phased out during 2016.
Luxair Frequent Flyer Program
Luxair is part of the frequent flyer program Miles & More which is free of charge to join.
Miles & More is the largest traveler loyalty program in Europe with 25 million members as of March 2014.
It offers rewards to passengers of the Star Alliance travelling on certain types of tickets.
The program was launched by Lufthansa (LH) in 1993 and is used by 13 European airlines. The programme enables its members to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles on all of the fully integrated airlines, all Star Alliance members as well as several other partner airlines.
Customers are able to build status, which gives them access to certain privileges.

Luxembourg Findel Airport is the main airport in Luxembourg. It is Luxembourg's only international airport and is the only airport in the country with a paved runway. It is located (6.02 km; 3.74 mi) away from Luxembourg City. In 2013 it handled 2,197,497 passengers.By cargo tonnage, Findel ranked as Europe's 5th busiest and the world's 28th busiest in 2010.
Luxair, Luxembourg's international airline, and cargo airline Cargolux have their head offices on the airport property.

Luxair commenced flights between Berlin Tegel and Saarbrücken on 1 January, taking on the route following the collapse of airberlin.
The carrier will operate up to three daily flights between Mondays and Fridays on the 570-kilometre German domestic sector, with one flight on Saturdays and two on Sundays. Among those promoting the new service at the German capital airport are: Tilen Trampuz, First Officer, Luxair; Domen Klemenc, Captain, Luxair; Jana Friedrich, Senior Manager Key Account & Business Development, Berlin Brandenburg; Martin Isler, EVP, Luxair; and Marc Berges, VP Marketing & Corporate Communication, Luxair. The carrier also links Tegel to Luxembourg.

Luxair flies to Iceland next summer
Luxair will be flying to Iceland in May and June next year.
Airline Luxair have decided to commence direct flights to Iceland next summer, once per week on Wednesdays in May and June.
According to information from Isavia Luxair had a few chartered flights to Iceland in 2015 and 2016 and one chartered flight in March this year.
Luxemburg used to be one of the most common cities for Icelanders to visit as it played a large role in Loftleiðir, the former Icelandair. The company was able to make stop-overs in Luxemburg and thus bridge the gap between Europe and North America for a lower price than had previously been possible.

Luxair returned to Alicante after a gap of nearly 10 years this week
Having last served the Spanish airport in November 2007, Luxair has begun a 1,370-kilometre service from Luxembourg (LUX). Launched 8 April, the carrier will offer a twice-weekly (Thursdays and Sundays) service between the two airports, with the flights operating on a mixture of the airline’s 737s. The route will face no direct competition. With this launch, Luxair now serves 11 airports in Spain from its Luxembourg hub on a total of 43 weekly flights.

Luxair announced that the new Bombardier CSeries, which was only put into service in July last year, is the preferred option for Luxair as part of its fleet renewal.
In addition to the Embraer 190-E2, the Bombardier CSeries is considered a long-term purchase option, however, a final decision will not be made until 2018. Luxair is already using the Dash 8Q-400 from the Canadian manufacturer, however, the new CSeries is a smaller twin-jet medium-haul aircraft that can accommodate between 100 to a maximum of 149 passengers, depending on the model.
