Hand Luggage
Passengers travelling in Business Class are permitted 2 x 8kg bags for their hand luggage.
Passengers who are infants or children, or passengers in Economy Class, are permitted 1 piece of hand luggage weighing a maximum of 8kg.
In addition, all passengers are permitted one personal item to carry on board with them. This can be items such as cameras, laptop, handbag or umbrella.

Turkish Airlines allows on domestic flights a free baggage allowance of 30 kg in Business Class, 20 kg in Economy class and 15 kg for promotional class.
International Flights
For International flights, 30kgs are allowed for Business Class passengers, 20kg for Comfort Class and Economy Class.
Flights to/from the USA
When flying economy class in the USA, passengers are permitted 1 x 8kg for hand luggage, measuring a total of 118cm (height+width+depth). In addition, passengers are permitted 2 x 23kg checked bags, totalling 158cm for combined linear dimensions.
Business class passengers flying in the USA are permitted 2 x 8kg hand luggage bags (118cm for combined linear dimensions), and 2 x 32kg checked luggage bags, measuring a maximum of 158cm for total combined linear dimensions.

Passengers can check-in to their Turkish Airline flight by entering their flight details on the Turkish Airlines web check-in page. Online check in for Turkish Airlines flights opens 24 hours before scheduled departure time and closes 90 minutes before.
Airport Check-In
Passengers can check-in at the airport by visiting the Turkish Airlines check-in desk with their travel documents. Check-in closes 45 minutes before scheduled departure time for domestic flights and 60 minutes before scheduled departure time for international flights.

Turkish Airlines offer passengers award-winning fresh dishes inspired by Turkish and World cuisine.
Economy passengers on domestic flights are offered sandwiches, appetisers and desserts, but the specifics will depend on the time and duration of your flight. For economy passengers on international and transatlantic flights, passengers are given breakfast and main meal choices, with also a snack service being available on some flights.
Business class passengers on domestic flights have a choice of Turkish cuisine, from shish kebabs to karnıyarık and imam bayıldı. For these passengers on International flights, they will be offered a hot/cold breakfast service in addition to a meal service and on some flights, a snack service. On transatlantic flights in business class, passengers receive two meals and also snack service.

The first airline to fly from Istanbul International Airport
Today marked a historic day for Turkish aviation with the opening of a brand new airport in Istanbul — 'Istanbul International Airport'. Turkish Airlines flew the first-ever services from the airport with flights to Anarka and Ercan. Turkish Airlines will launch another service to Antalya tomorrow and then an additional two more services on 8th November — one to Izmir and the other to Baku.
All of Turkish Airlines' new routes from Istanbul International Airport will fly once a day and are scheduled to fly until the end of December. Any Turkish Airlines flights from Istanbul International Airport past December are yet to be announced.

Extra flights to Russia added due to World Cup demand
Turkish Airlines will run a number of additional flights to Russia via Istanbul due to the overwhelming demand for the 2018 World Cup. The airline have already carried thousands of fans into Russia since the tournament started last month, and they expect to transport thousands more as the tournament progresses.
A number of new services from North America and South America have also been added, flying to the 11 cities where the football matches are taking place via Istanbul. Turkish Airlines are using a wide variety of aircraft to run these services. The airline also expects a good number of passengers to use the stop-off at Istanbul as an opportunity to see the city and other parts of Turkey.
The 2019 World Cup has certainly helped Turkish Airlines passenger growth for 2018. One example of this is the number of passengers they carried between Buenos Aires and Istanbul in 2017 (1.9 million) in comparison to the number of passengers is expected to carry in 2018 (over 2 million), which is a direct result of Argentinian football fans flying into Russia to support Lionel Messi and co.

Belavia sign agreement with Turkish
The two airlines, have come together to provide passengers with more options to travel between Turkey and Belarus. The airlines have signed a codeshare agreement that will put both of their respective flight codes on services between Istanbul and Minsk.
Turkish Airlines' CEO has said that the airline is happy to codeshare with Belavia and believes the agreement with improve the relations between the two carriers.

Turkish Airlines sponsor Empire State Run-Up race
The airline has been signed on as the presenting sponsor of the Empire State Building Run-up race on February 7th. This is the 41st annual competition and the world's oldest and most famous tower race. Athletes will be requires to climb 1576 stairs, all the way to the 86th floor of the 5th tallest building in the USA. Some people, I'm sure, would rather take the lift, which gets you there in under a minute, but as its Russia World Cup year, 2018 is a good year for sport. Participants are expected to make it to the top in an impressive 10 minutes! This sponsorship has a personal touch to Turkish Airlines, as their offices are on the 75th floor of this very building.

Codeshare agreement announced with Latin American airline, Copa Airlines
Copa Airlines and Turkish Airlines have agreed to operate joint flights. Both Star Alliance members, the two airlines have signed a code-sharing agreement to provide more travel options for passengers. A codeshare agreement permits 2 or more airlines to list certain flights in a reservation system under eachothers names.
Latin American passengers will be connected via Istanbul to Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Turkey's flag carrier currently has 337 aircraft and flies to 298 destinations -- 249 international and 49 domestic. Turkish Airlines was chosen as Europe's Best Airline for the 6th time and the Best Airline in Southern Europe for the eighth consecutive time in a 2016 Skytrax survey.
