Hunnu Air is a Mongolian domestic airline which was established and began scheduled flights in 2011.
Previously Hunnu Air was called Mongolian Airlines Group, however in April 2013 to avoid any confusion with the similarly named Mongolian flag carrier MIAT Mongolian Airlines they changed their name.
Headquartered in the Sukhbaatar district, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia Hunnu Air's main focus is domestic flights from their hub Chinggis Khaan International Airport. Hunnu Air was founded as Mongolian Airlines Group.
Hunnu Air provides domestic flight services from Ulaanbaatar to Hovsgol, Uvs, Khovd, Zavkhan, Dornod and Omnogovi.
In addition, Hunnu Air operates international flights to Manzhouli, Hailar and Erlian.
All routes are operated on one of two aircraft either a Fokker 50 or ATR 72-500, the maximum seating capacity being the ATR with 72 seats. Mongolian Airlines Group currently deploys a fleet of 4 aircrafts for its passenger flight operation, comprising of world class Airbus 319-100 aircrafts which are globally known for its passenger comfort and safety as well as the Holland manufactured 50 seater Fokker 50 type aircrafts, while 5 of our legendary AN-2 type aircrafts are still flying prolifically in the air for the agricultural flight services.

In August 2016, Hunnu Air launched a direct service in route Ulaanbaatar to Boutou in Inner Mongolia. Baotou is the largest economy of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Baotou Xingsheng Economic & Technological Development Zone is an industrial zone in Baotou. The mines in Bayan Obo are the greatest source of rare earth metals globally. In 2005, they accounted for 45% of the total production on earth.Baotou Airport serves the city with regular service to Beijing, Shanghai and Taiyuan. The city is connected by the Hubao Expressway to Inner Mongolia's capital, Hohhot.
In July 2016, Hunnu Air received the first ATR 72 aircraft as part of the fleet renewal plan. The aircart has 72 seats and is considered to be the greenest and the most eco-friendly regional aircraft in the world. The new aircraft will start scheduled and charter services from 21st of July, 2016. In May 2016, Hunnu Air launched the new route between Ulaanbaatar and Olgii and this followed a direct flight between Erlian and Ulaanbaatar.
Erlian is a border city in between Mongolia and China. Ulaanbaatar - Erlian route is one of the main gateways between Mongolia and China. The flight between these 2 cities cuts more than 10 hour train ride into 1,5 hours. Hunnu Air, the new name for Mongolian Airlines, launched its first European service last week, with the introduction on 9 June of flights from Ulaanbator to Paris CDG. The twice-weekly flights on the 7,040-kilometre route requires the airline’s A319 to make a technical stop in Ekaterinburg in Russia. The airline is planning to acquire an A330 to enable the service to operate non-stop from 2015. No other carrier currently operates this route.
Hunnu Air have purchased two, 50-seater Fokker-50 type aircrafts that are manufactured in Netherlands and a 72-seater ATR 72 type aircraft that is manufactured in France for our domestic flight routes to meet the growing market demand and economic growth of Mongolia.

Hunnu Air allows a free baggage allowance for checked baggage up to 30 kg in all international flights. Total weight of checked baggage up to 20kg in all international flights and up to 10kg in all domestic flights. Carry-on baggage is limited to one piece and must not weigh more than 5 kg. | |

In February 2016, Hunnu Air celebrated the first flight of the Hunnu Air to the centre of Bayan-Olgii province. Hunnu Air fleet consists of Fokker F50. In July 2015, Hunnu Air launched a direct flight between Erlian, China and Ulaanbaatar. These customers are the members of the Hunnu Club, Frequent Flyers of Hunnu Air. Hunnu Air reserves the right to include other airlines and service companies to the program (such as hotels, car rental companies) and to allow earning /redeeming miles via such companies.
