Nauru Airlines apply for service to Guam
Nauru Airlines filed an application with the DOT for a Foreign Air Carrier Permit (FACP) as well as exemption authority, ahead of plans to begin regular flights to Guam.
The Nauruan national carrier said in papers filed this week that effective late March of 2017, it plans to offer a weekly service from Nauru to Guam Int'l with stop-overs in Tarawa (Kiribati), Majuro(Marshall Islands), and Pohnpei (Micronesia).Flights will operate on-board B737-300 aircraft with cargo capacity available as well.
Nauru Airlines currently operates four B737-300s and one B737-300(F) on scheduled flights to Australia, the Solomon Islands, Micronesia, Kiribati, and Fiji.

Nauru Airlines rebranding results
Nauru Airlines is pursuing the fastest growth in the company’s 18-year history, adding three aircraft during 2014.
The government-owned flag carrier also recently completed a rebranding, taking back the Nauru name following an eight year hiatus with the more generic name Our Airline. The rebranding and growth come as part of an increased focus on its home market. Nauru, the second least populated nation in the world after the Vatican, has a minuscule home market and no tourism.

Nauru Airlines consider larger fleet
Nauru Airlines announced it was considering a second freighter to its current sole B737-300(F)to cater to growing demand for imports on the tiny island nation in Micronesia.
For its part, Nauru Airlines boasts a fleet of seven aircraft, including six B737-300s, used on scheduled passenger flights to Australia, the Solomon Islands, Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, Fiji, and Kiribati.
Last year it launched a new Micronesian Island Hopper service connecting the islands of Pohnpei and Kosrae to Majuro, Tarawa and Nauru.
But Nauru is receiving increased traffic as the island is used by Australia to process asylum seekers offshore.
Nauru Airlines also continues to run a niche wet lease and charter business, enabling the carrier to be profitable despite its tiny size and isolated location. In the process it has been able to enhance sub-regional air service links on the long, thin inter-island routes in the south and central Pacific.
