interCaribbean Airways is a passenger airline based in the Turks and Caicos Islands and was founded over 25 years ago to connect travellers to the Caribbean.
The airline offers scheduled domestic and regional services from its hub at Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, to multiple destinations in the Bahamas, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica and Puerto Rico. interCaribbean Airways Announces Dominica to Tortola and St Lucia Services
interCaribbean Airways has announced new nonstop schedule services from Dominica to St Lucia and Tortola, with one-stop connections via Tortola to St Thomas, St Croix, Sint Maarten, San Juan, Providenciales and Santo Domingo.
Travelers can also make two-stop connections via interCaribbean flights to Kingston and Nassau. Flights to and from Dominica begin on March 22 with three weekly flights.
“We are pleased to begin connecting Dominica with our Caribbean, bringing affordable air fares to this latest interCaribbean destination,” the airline’s CEO Trevor Sadler said.
“We look forward to welcoming citizens and residents aboard and adding new connections and cities that Dominica can enjoy.”
Colin Piper, Director of Tourism in Dominica, said the new service, which gives Dominicans new choices to fly to and from the island and more connections to other places, is very timely.

interCaribbean Airways adds service to St. Maarten
interCaribbean Airways Tortola to St. Maarten
interCaribbean Airways started services between Tortola and St.Maarten on 9 February. It will initially operate the route five times weekly, before increasing to twice-daily from 22 March.
interCaribbean Airways started services between Tortola (EIS) in the British Virgin Islands and St. Maarten (SXM) on 9 February. It will initially operate the 156-kilometre sector five times weekly, with the intention to increase to twice-daily from 22 March. According to an interCaribbean press release, the start date for the service was brought forward from 22 March “in response to the challenges of travel to and from Santo Domingo following recent air service interruptions.” The carrier says that passengers travelling from St. Maarten will have the option of onward connections from Tortola to Santo Domingo, San Juan and Antigua. Initial services appear to have been operated with DHC 6 Twin Otters according to Flightradar24, however OAG schedules indicate the flights will be flown by EMB 120s in the near future.
OAG data also show two other carriers are operating between Tortola and St. Maarten, with Air Sunshine and Winair scheduled to provide 14 and eight frequencies respectively during the week commencing 13 February. From the available Flightradar24 data it is not clear if these competing services are currently operating.
St. Maarten Airport suffered severe damage in the wake of hurricane Irma last year, causing subsequent disruption to air services.

InterCaribbean Airways offering new scheduled services from the British Virgin Islands to the US Virgin Islands, St Maarten, Dominica, and St Lucia
The new services will begin from February 1, 2018.
Travelers are now able to book direct flights from Tortola’s Terrence B Lettsome International Airport (EIS), to St Thomas (Cyril E King Airport – STT) with two flights offered daily,
St Croix (Henry E Rholsen Airport – STX) with one daily flight,
St Maarten (Princess Juliana International Airport – SXM) with two flights daily, Dominica (Douglas- Charles Airport – DOM) with three weekly flights offered,
and Castries in St Lucia (George FL Charles Airport – SLU) on three weekly flights.
The service to St Lucia is a continuation of the flight from Dominica.
InterCaribbean currently provides competitively-priced nonstop flights between Tortola and Antigua, San Juan in Puerto Rico, and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
The airline also offers same-day connecting flights to the Turks and Caicos Islands, Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti, and the Bahamas.
“We believe that we are the first scheduled airline to offer seven nonstop destinations from the British Virgin Islands,” said Mr Trevor Sadler, CEO for interCaribbean.
“Furthermore, all connections on our flights, current and new, are planned to minimize layover times.”
Founded as InterIsland Airways in 1991 by Turks Islander, Mr Lyndon R Gardiner, Chairman of interCaribbean, the airline which started off as a charter service, embarked on an ambitious program of adding international destinations gradually adding larger and faster aircraft.
The airline now serves 22 cities.
InterCaribbean entered the BVI market in 2016 with direct flights between the BVI and Antigua, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. BVI Airways and Vi Airlink are other airlines operating services in the British Virgin Islands and may be threatened by this new service.
By July 2017, the airline introduced three, weekly-scheduled direct flights between the BVI and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.

InterCaribbean Adds Flights To Five Cities
Turks and Caicos Islands-based InterCaribbean Airways said Dec. 5 it will launch services to five new cities starting in February. From Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport in the British Virgin Islands (BVI), the carrier will fly to Cyril E. King and Henry E. Rohlsen airports in the U.S. Virgin Islands; to Princess Juliana International Airport, to St. Maarten; Douglas–Charles Airport, Dominica; and from Dominica to Castries, St. Lucia.

interCaribbean Airways introduces new Providenciales-Tortola Flights
interCaribbean Airways is introducing a new way to Tortola every Wednesday and Saturday, Tortola from Providenciales.
Beginning May 3, these new same plane flights will fly to Tortola via Santo Domingo, with no deplaning required. This new service is designed especially for Caribbean Passport holders (without a USA Visa) to be able to visit BVI, bypassing San Juan or St. Thomas as the USA points of entry.
The service with a 30 seater Embraer 120 aircraft commences on May 3, 2017, and adds to interCaribbean’ current nonstop flights from Beef Island to both San Juan and Antigua giving increased connectivity for Tortola to Santo Domingo.

interCaribbean Airways announced a major increase in air service to commence 18 flights weekly between San Juan and Tortola. interCaribbean Airways will start double daily services effective from December 19th 2016 and triple daily 4 times a week.
interCaribbean Airways recognised the Providenciales International Airport and the Goverment of Turks and Caicos in-transit facility. interCaribbean Airways see this new facility as one that will benefit the airport and the region with the means to increase flight frequency between Islands of the Western and Northern Caribbean, and build on Providenciales as a recognized gateway into the Caribbean. In April 2016, interCaribbean Airways has launched Tortola - San Juan flights. interCaribbean Airways, began flying to the island of Tortola last December 2015 with Sunday Antigua services, and now continues additional services for the Eastern Caribbean with this new addition of Tortola to Puerto Rico flights. All of these flights are served with EMB 120 equipment, with capacity for 30 passengers.

interCaribbean Airways announced it was expanding its service between San Juan and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands with two daily roundtrips. interCaribbean is based in the Turks and Caicos, pays 6% commission and operates EMB 120 turbo prop aircraft. The carrier also plans to soon announce increases in its service between the BVI and Antigua.

interCaribbean Airways announced it was offering a new nonstop weekly service from Providenciales to Montego Bay. These new flights will commence operating on December 18th, 2016 every Sunday and return every Monday. The service is initially offered on a once weekly basis on the following schedule. This new flight increases the flights to 8 weekly flights in each direction between Jamaica and the Turks and Caicos Islands with a faster flight and improved connections from San Juan -Puerto Rico, Nassau – Bahamas and Santo Domingo -Dominican Republic. These flights offer the fastest way around the Caribbean.
