Interjet and Lufthansa sign partnership
The new partnership between the two airlines will encourage Interjet its international presence, with an additional 55 destinations. These include Europe, Asia, North America.
Lufthansa has had previous deal partnerships with All Nippon Airways, Iberia, American Airlines, LATAM and British Airways.

Interjet Airlines to offer nonstop flights from Orlando to Mexico City
Flights are scheduled to start June 14
Interjet Airlines announced new nonstop flights between Orlando International Airport and Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez in Mexico City, starting on June 14.
Interjet officials said Orlando is a growing market for travel to Mexico City.
A press release states that tickets for the flights will be sold at a promotional rate of $190 for a round-trip flight until Aug. 5.

Interjet will change airport they operate from in Orlando
From 14th June 2018, Interjet will relocate the airport in which it operates its Orlando route to. The airline will stop flying to Orlando Sanford (SFB) and instead fly to Orlando International (MCO).
The Mexican airline currently flies from Mexico City International (MEX) to Orlando Sanford four times a week with the Airbus A320 aircraft. However, this will stop on 11th June 2018, and from the 14th of the same month, it will begin operating the service to Orlando International, flying to an increased seven times a week. It is understood that the airline will still use the A320 with the service.

Interjet adding nonstop flights between San Antonio and León, Mexico
Interjet Airlines is adding daily nonstop service from San Antonio International Airport to León, Mexico — expanding this city's air connectivity with that country. The Mexico-based, low-cost carrier will begin the new flights on June 22.
León will be the fourth Mexican city served by the carrier. Interjet plans to use the 93-seat Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft for its flights between the Alamo City and Del Bajìo International Airport.
San Antonio Aviation Director Russ Handy said local leaders are “very pleased with the persistent investment" that Interjet continues to make in San Antonio. He said the new flights are another indicator of growing demand for service between South-Central Texas and Mexico.
Interjet Chief Commercial Officer Julio Gamero said the new service will boost the carrier's presence in the U.S., while increasing connectivity between Mexico and "one of Texas' most visited cities."
The Bajìo region, in West North-Central Mexico, is among that country's fastest-growing areas. Like San Antonio, it's also home to multiple World Heritage sites.
San Antonio is now one of a handful of U.S. cities with nonstop flights to León.

Interjet introduces Golden Gate route pair
There were celebrations at San Francisco on 14 March to mark a double route launch from Interjet, with the Mexican LCC starting services from both Cancún and Guadalajara on the same day. A special cake was also baked for the occasion.
Interjet began two new services to San Francisco (SFO) on 14 March, linking the Californian city to Cancún (CUN) and Guadalajara. The two city pairs will be operated three times per week with A320s, and both face incumbent competition. The 3,870-kilometre Cancún route is already operated by United Airlines with 15 weekly frequencies, while the 2,644-kilometre Guadalajara sector is currently served by Aeromexico (six weekly flights) and Volaris (four weekly). These are Interjet’s only routes to San Francisco.
OAG schedules show the Bay Area airport will be one of three US destinations served by the Mexican LCC from Cancún in S18 and one of five from Guadalajara.

Interjet expands reach with full content distribution on the Sabre GDS
Sabre Corporation, the leading technology provider to the global travel industry, announced that Interjet, one of Mexico's leading carriers offering excellent service at reasonable prices, has signed a long-term distribution agreement to offer its full content on the Sabre global distribution system (GDS).
Headquartered in Mexico City, Interjet serves over 12 million passengers each year with routes in Mexico as well as the United States, Canada and Central and South America providing air service to 54 destinations in eight countries, with a fleet of 80 aircraft and revenue of more than US$1 billion. The new distribution agreement expands the airline's reach to more than 425,000 travel agents worldwide while allowing Sabre's corporate, leisure and online travel agency subscribers to deliver even more choice and value to their travelers. Full content from Interjet was released globally on September 21, 2017 to travel agencies. In Mexico, Interjet content with e-Wallet is available effective March 8.

Interjet seeks to strengthen presence in Latin America
In 2013, the Mexican low-cost airline Interjet started a new chapter in its international operations with its first flight from Mexico City to Bogota, Colombia. Now, Interjet plans to position itself as one of the premier airlines in Latin America.
Speaking at the recent ANATO Tourism Showcase in Bogota, Interjet’s Executive Commercial Director, Julio Gamero said “We hope to establish relationships and alliances that help Interjet strengthen its presence and prestige as one of the airlines with the best service in the Latin American market”.
Gamero explained that in the last five years since that first flight to Colombia, Interjet has seen a 13.6% growth in the number of Colombian passengers visiting Mexico.
According to data from the WTTC (World Travel and Tourism Council), tourism accounted for 5.8% of Colombia’s GDP in 2017. Gamero said “This represents a great market opportunity for Interjet”.
Also attending ANATO, Interjet’s sales manager in Colombia, Carolina Ruiz Gonzalez, said “It’s good that the market in this part of the continent offers us more possibilities”.
ANATO is the Colombian Association for Travel and Tourism.

Interjet Launches New Service Between Chicago and Guadalajara
Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) announces that Mexico-based, low-cost carrier Interjet between Guadalajara, beginning on Feb. 16.
Interjet now offers daily nonstop service between Chicago and Mexico City, Mexico.
The Chicago-Guadalajara route offers one daily, non-stop flight, operated on an Airbus A-320 aircraft with a 150-seat capacity.
"We are happy to welcome Interjet's new route to O'Hare International Airport," said Ginger S. Evans, CDA Commissioner. "Interjet's low-cost service to Guadalajara will offer more options for O'Hare travelers more choices.The CDA is always pleased to see its airline partners grow their product and services in Chicago.

2017 Was a Busy Year for Interjet
Mexican airline, Interjet, in conjunction with Mexico Tourism, Tourism Toronto, and Ontario Tourism, held a holiday event in Toronto last week. TravelPulse Canada sat down with Francisco Javier Porragas Torres, the airline’s director of sales to learn how the airline, which now serves three Canadian cities; Montreal, Toronto and most recently, Vancouver, plans to work with Canadian agents.
Until recently, Interjet, Mexico’s second largest airline, has been relatively unknown in Canada and certainly with consumers. But Porragas Torres intends to change that and travel agents are an important part of that process.
“We have two ways to work with agents; the first is via the GDS, Amadeus or Sabre.” he said. “We just finished the implementation with Sabre and we are just finishing negotiations with TravelPort, which is very important here in Canada. And so in a couple of months, I’d say, TravelPort is going to be ready also.”
Interjet is a member of BSP Canada/IATA, so agents with an Interjet Carrier Identification Plate (CIP) through BSP Canada can book and ticket through their GDS.
“And they [agents] can also have a user ID and sign into our web page and do sales through the web.” he continued.
“And also we’re going to be paying commissions to travel agents.” Porragas Torres said. “We’re going to be starting with four percent on air transportation, and we have another product, which is called Interjet Vacations, and the commission is going to be four per cent also.”

Interjet's Newest Aircraft Delivery Includes Six Tons of Humanitarian Aid for Mexico Earthquake Victims
Airline’s A321’s maiden flight arrives in Toluca, Mexico from Hamburg, Germany with more than six tons of relief supplies for victims of the recent, deadly earthquakes.
Interjet Airlines announced today it has added another Airbus A321 to its fleet, and as part of its maiden voyage to Toluca, Mexico, the aircraft delivered much-needed humanitarian supplies from Europe to the earthquake victims in Mexico.
"The arrival of our newest aircraft is truly a special delivery, because while it will allow us to offer more options for our customers, it also allows us the opportunity to make an immediate impact in the humanitarian effort to bring critical relief supplies and aid to the people who have suffered through one of the deadliest earthquakes in Mexico in the last 30 years," said José Luis Garza, Interjet’s Chief Executive Officer. "Through these tragedies, we have seen the global community come together with great strength to help out our victims of these recent natural disasters and we’re happy Interjet could help," he added.
The new A321 left the Airbus facilities in Hamburg, Germany carrying tents, inflatable mattresses, hammers, camping lamps, and waterproof tarpaulins. The Airbus Foundation, with the support of Aviation Capital Group, and GE Aviation/CFM, contributed to the delivery of the supplies, which were donated by Humedica, a non-governmental, German organization.
With the addition of this newest aircraft, the Interjet fleet grows to a total of 77 aircraft. The A321 is the largest aircraft of the A320 family, but also offers the lowest fuel consumption, emissions, and noise levels of its kind.

Mexico's Interjet to incorporate Panasonic Avionics inflight systems
Mexico City-based Interjet has selected Panasonic Avionics Corporation's (Panasonic) innovative inflight entertainment (IFE) system and Wi-Fi connectivity service for its fleet of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. The initial aircraft will be delivered from Airbus in November 2017, and this A321 NEO aircraft will be the first Panasonic-equipped aircraft to be line fit with connectivity by the OEM.

Interjet Signs Wi-Fi Deal With Panasonic
Mexico’s Interjet will install Wi-Fi on its new Airbus-family aircraft deliveries, supplier Panasonic Avionics Corp. announced during the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) Expo here. Interjet plans to take delivery of the first connected aircraft—an Airbus A321neo—in November, a Panasonic statement said. These aircraft will also feature overhead inflight entertainment (IFE) monitors.

Interjet announced it is to lease ten A320s from ACG
Interjet (4O, Toluca) will acquire ten A320 family aircraft from Aviation Capital Group (ACG) on long-term leases, with the first to be delivered in July 2017.

Interjet announced it had taken delivery of its first Airbus A320neo
The airline is the first in Mexico to operate the A320neo powered by CFM Leap-1A engines. Interjet has another 34 A320neos on order. The airline is the third Mexican low-cost carrier to operate the A320neo, after Volaris and VivaAerobus.
ACG confirmed that the aircraft will come from its order book commitment with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac). Interjet currently operates forty-five A320-200, three A320-200neo, and three A321-200 aircraft, as well as twenty-two SSJ 100-95s on flights throughout Mexico, as well as destinations in the United States, Guatemala, Cuba, Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Canada.
