How to cancel your flight ticket?
If you've made the wrong booking or can no longer travel on a flight you've paid for, you might want to cancel your flight. Contact us at customerservice@alternativeairlines.com or +44 (0) 1293 874290 and we'll be able to tell you the policy of cancelled flights for the airline that you've booked with and whether you can get any money back. Most flight tickets are non-refundable, but at Alternative Airlines, you can easily search for refundable flights.
Cancelling Flights within 24 Hours
Although every airline has a different policy, a small number of airlines will allow you to cancel flight tickets within 24 hours and give you a refund, even if you've bought a non-refundable airline ticket. If you've bought an airline ticket and want to cancel it the same day, we ask that you contact us before 8pm (GMT) and request to cancel your flight, so we can try our best to get you a refund from the airline.

Can you cancel flight tickets?
Yes. You can cancel flights tickets. However, if you haven't purchased a fully-refundable ticket, you most likely will not get your money back and will be subject to a cancellation fee.
Where to cancel a flight?

Who can cancel a flight?
Only the airline itself can cancel the flight. As a travel agency, we have to adhere to the airlines' rules and regulations. We'll always contact the airline for you, explain the situation and try and get you your money back. However, only the airline itself can cancel the flight.
Does cancelling flights cost money?
Cancelling flights usually costs money. There is usually a cancellation fee charged by the airline. Additionally, Alternative Airlines charges a $95 USD administration fee for cancelling or changing flights. If you buy Alternative Airlines Premium Service Package for $26 USD, we'll waive the administration fee. But you'll still be subject to any cancellation fees that the airline may charge. If you purchase a fully-refundable flight ticket along with the Alternative Airlines Premium Service Package, it will not cost money to cancel your flight.
Is there a fee for cancelling a flight?
Yes. There's a fee for cancelling a flight. Even if you've purchased a refundable ticket, you might still be charged a fee to cancel your flight and process your refund.
If you've purchased a non-refundable ticket, it might still cost to cancel your flight. You might be wondering why you would pay money to cancel a flight that you're not flying on. However, if you've bought a return ticket and you don't show up for the outbound flight without cancelling your flight, some airlines will automatically cancel the return flight. So, if you intend to use the return ticket of your flight, it might best to pay to cancel your outbound flight, as it will save you money in the long-term.
Can I cancel a flight after check-in?
Yes. You can cancel your flight after check-in or at any time before the flight. However, unless you have a refundable airline ticket, it's unlikely that you'll get any money back.
Can you cancel flights on Southwest?
Yes. You can cancel flights on Southwest. You can either buy a refundable Southwest flight, cancel and get your money back at any time before the flight. Or, if you have bought a non-refundable Southwest flight, you might be able to get your money back if you contact us requesting a refund before 8pm (BST) on the day that you bought your flight. If you contact us after this time and you have purchased a non-refundable airline ticket, you'll most likely not be able to get your money back when cancelling the Southwest flight.
Can you cancel flights on Spirit?
You can cancel Spirit Airlines flights at any time, but you might not be able to get your money back if you have a non-refundable Spirit flight ticket. If you contact us before 8pm (BST) on the day that you bought your flight, we'll be able to get your money back from Spirit. However, after this, we can't guarantee we'll be able to get all or any of your money back after cancelling your Spirit flight reservation.
Can I cancel my flight due to pregnancy?
You can cancel your flight for any reason, but you won't receive any money back if you cancel your flight due to pregnancy. The only way you might be able to get money back after you cancel your flight is if you buy travel insurance. However, make sure that your insurance covers pregnancy.
