Healthy Airline Food
Find out information on the different meal types you can pre-order to maintain healthy eating while flying.
Healthy Plane Food
Staying healthy on a plane doesn't have to be difficult. While you can always bring your own healthy food onto the plane, there's always restrictions on what food you can bring in your carry-on baggage. And with many healthy options available from the majority of airlines, it's much easier to have the airline cater for you.
If you've flown before without pre-ordering your meal, you might think that aren't many options for those looking to eat healthily, with only two main options for meal types (standard and vegetarian). However, most airlines that offer inflight meals actually have a range of different healthy options. All you need to do is pre-book your meal before your flight!

Different Plane Meal Types For
Healthy Eating
LCML — Low calorie meal
LFML — Low fat meal
FML — Fruit platter
Low-Calorie
Meal
Low-Calorie meals are the number one choice if you're looking for a healthy meal option whilst flying. Low-calorie meals have reduced fat and sugar and generally come with a smaller portion of protein.
Low Fat/Cholesterol
Meal
Low Fat and Low Cholesterol meals are designed for people with heart disease, high cholesterol and fatty liver. However, they also make a good alternative if you're looking for healthy plane food and the airline you're flying on doesn't provide low-calorie meals.
Low fat and low cholesterol meals usually contain foods high in fibre and are never cooked in oil or fried.
Fruit Platter
Meal
A fruit platter is a selection of fresh fruits, designed for passengers with dietary requirements. It's also a good alternative for those who are healthy eating, as a fruit platter guarantees all ingredients are natural and contain no additives or preservatives.
