About GoAir
GoAir is an Indian low-cost-carrier based in Mumbai. It's the aviation foray of the Wadia Group and the fifth largest airline in India by market share. It operates domestic passenger services to over 20 cities with more than 150 daily flights and around 1000 weekly flights. GoAir's airport hubs are at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai and Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi.
GoAir was founded in the year 2005 by Jehangir Wadia, son of Indian industrialist Nusli Wadia. The airline is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Wadia Group. GoAir launched its operations in November 2005 using Airbus A320 aircraft. The airline's growth has been slow compared to other airlines established at the same time such as IndiGo and SpiceJet having a larger market share, fleet size and destinations served. Being a low-cost carrier, GoAir does not provide complimentary meals on its flights but offers options for buy on board in-flight meals.
The airline publishes an in-flight magazine Go-getter. GoAir offers a premium service known as Go Business at a higher fare which provides extra services such as larger legroom seats, free meals, increased baggage allowance and priority boarding.
GoAir operates to 22 destinations in India with over 140 daily flights and 975 weekly flights. GoAir does not operate any international flights Port Blair, Patna, Guwahati, Chandigarh, Goa, Amhedabad, Jammu, Leh, Srinagar, Ranchi, Bangalore, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Delhi, Jaipur, Chennai, Lucknow, Bagdogra and Kolkata. GoAir's fleet consists of Airbus A320-200. GoAir is positioned as 'the Smart People's Airline'. Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, is the primary international airport serving the Mumbai Metropolitan Area, India. It is the second busiest airport in the country in terms of passenger traffic and international traffic after Delhi, and was the 47th busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic. The airport is still the busiest in the country in terms of cargo traffic. The airport has five operating terminals spread over an operational area of 750 hectares and handles more than 780 aircraft movements per day. It handled a record 51 movements in one hour.

GoAir expected to fly to Europe soon
Indian airline, GoAir, is expected to reveal plans on flights to Europe soon, according to GoAir CEO, Cornelis Vrieswijk. The airline is not giving any indication about which destinations they will fly to or when it will happen, however, they're in serious talks about acquiring a number of wide-body aircraft which they will presumably use to operate these new international services.

Senior Citizens offered cheap tickets when flying on GoAir
GoAir will offer tickets at a reduced rate to senior citizens that fly domestic routes on the airline. Senior citizens will receive an 8% discount on base fare when booking with GoAir, although passengers will not be able to check-in online prior to departure. Passengers booking flights on GoAir with the senior citizen discount must carry a valid photo ID with their date of birth on when flying to prove they're eligible for the discount. GoAir has urged passengers to act quickly on the offer, as there are limited tickets and each ticket will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

GoAir fight offers may lead to a boost in the Indian aviation market
During the ongoing summer holidays, domestic Indian airlines are raining discounts to maximise load factor on their flights and gain as many customers as possible. One way GoAir is doing this is to offer flights from as little as 1314 Rs (Indian rupees). The lowest fare on GoAir flight tickets is for Guwahati to Bagdogra route. The other low-priced routes on sale are Mumbai-Ahmedabad (Rs. 1,610), Hyderabad-Bengaluru (Rs. 1,651), Lucknow-Delhi (Rs. 1,654), and Ahmedabad-Jaipur (Rs. 1,680), among others.

Indigo and GoAir cancel 50 flights
The two domestic carriers, Indigo and GoAir grounded 50 flights today as consequence of a safety directive by aviation watchdog DGCA. Of the 48 flights, which are not being operated as part of the curtailed schedule, 42 are of IndiGo and six of GoAir. GoAir has also announced that it is cancelling 18 flights from March 15 to 24. IndiGo has cancelled 42 flights for March 14. They include flights to Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Jaipur, Srinagar, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Dehradun, Amritsar, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, among others, the airline announced on its website. All efforts are going towards minimising the inconvenience to the thousands of displaced passengers which are affected.

GoAir announce sale
GoAir's flights are set to reach rock-bottom prices on domestic routes. The sale is in play for the whole of March and aspires to make GoAir the cheapest way to fly in India. Routes included are Mumbai - Ahmedabad, Leh to Jammy and Bengaluru to Kochi, amongst others.

GoAir on the ground
GoAir's flight from Leh to Jammu was sent back due to concerns of a "technical snag". GoAir prioritised the safety of its 112 passengers and crew members on board and made the executive dedcision to turn back to its original destination. Everyone was safe and the situation was dealt with professionally. Engineers are assessing the plane in hope that it will be back off the ground in less than 24 hours.
