About flynas
Founded in 2007, flynasطيران ناسi, previously Nas Air, s a Saudi Arabian low-cost airline and operates domestic and international flights. It is one of the main Saudi Arabian low-cost airlines alonigside flyadeal. Destinations that flynas fly to include Abha, Cairo, Mumbai and Riyadh. The airline has two operating bases in Saudi Arabia, King Abdulaziz International Airport and King Khalid International Airport. As well as secondary hubs in Mumbai, Riyadh, and Dammam. At the time that flynas launched, the only other Saudi airline was Saudi Arabian Airlines. Under the Nas Air name, flynas became the only Saudi low-cost airline in the country. In 2009, flynas launched its first international route connecting Assiut and Sharm el Sheikh. After some success, flynas later launched moe international routes to cities in Turkey and Pakistan and more destinations later on.
In 2012, flynas made a codeshare agreement with Etihad, which placed the airlines code on flights from Abu Dhabi. The codeshare agreement between flynas and Etihad as been highly succesful and still stands today. In 2013, flynas rebranded and changed its name from Nasair to flynas, which it still operates as today.

flynas launches 3 direct flights to Georgia, Austria, Azerbaijan and Greece
The 3 weekly flights to each destination from Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam start June 8
flynas, the national low-cost carrier airline of Saudi Arabia, announced the launch of direct flights to Tbilisi in Georgia, Vienna in Austria, Baku in Azerbaijan and Athens in Greece. This step is a part of flynas’ expansion strategy for the year 2018, which aims to reach as many destinations as possible.
Flights to these destinations will be launched on the June 8, 2018, with 3 flights weekly to each destination, and is available for booking through all flynas booking platforms, including sales agents, flynas website www.flynas.com, mobile application or by calling the flynas 247 call centre on 920001234.
Bandar Al-Mohanna, CEO of flynas, said the new flights will be launched from Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam during the fourth week of Ramadan, in order to meet the growing demand for the favorite summer destinations of flynas customers . He confirmed flynas’ eagerness to constantly develop the low-cost airline experience and increase its services.

flynas to Enter Georgia’s Air Market
First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili held a meeting with the Saudi Arabia National Carrier, the flynas Director General, Bander Abdulrahman Al-Mohanna.
The flynas will launch direct flights to the three large Saudi Arabian cities - Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah, starting June, this year. Direct flight to-from Tbilisi will be conducted three times a week, according toMinistry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
As it was noted during the meeting, the interest toward Georgia as a tourist destination has been increased recently within the countries of the Gulf, which also include Saudi Arabia since the tourist flow to Georgia in 2017, compared to the previous year, was increased by 61%.
Director General of the flynas noted that that the flights will be implemented from the three largest cities of Saudi Arabia since the interest in the country toward Georgia as a unique tourist destination is huge. It was noted that the marketing campaign is to be provided in Saudi Arabia, in order to further increase the number of tourists from this country.
Director of the JSC United Airports of Georgia of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Ketevan Aleksidze and the Head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration, Giorgi Chogovadze also attended the meeting.
The national carrier of Saudi Arabia began operations in February 2007 under the name of ‘Nas Air’. In November 2013, it changed the name to the flynas, and currently owns 31 aircrafts. The airline operates in 35 directions. The Voyager will represent the flynas in Tbilisi.
In 2017, Georgia hosted 56 252 citizens of Saudi Arabia, which is by 176% higher number compared to 2016. According to the data of the first three months of 2018, 3 406 citizens of Saudi Arabia has already arrived in Georgia, which is the increase by 82% compared to the same period of last year.

Saudia Arabia fleet: flyadeal, flynas, rapid LCC growth
The Saudi Arabian airline market is poised for rapid growth over the next few years as the kingdom relies on aviation and tourism to diversify its economy. LCCs are particularly well positioned as low fares stimulate demand among a youthful population that is eager to travel more.
Saudia Arabia's two LCCs, the privately owned flynas and Saudia subsidiary flyadeal, are planning rapid expansion. flynas has placed orders for 80 A320neos, enabling the airline to triple its fleet over the next eight years, while flyadeal plans soon to place an order for 30 new generation narrowbody aircraft.
The passenger aircraft fleet in Saudi Arabia has grown by 15% over the past year, driven by rapid expansion at Saudia and flyadeal. The Saudia Group now accounts for approximately 80% of the fleet and 75% of domestic fleet capacity. The group's new two-brand strategy should enable it to maintain strong market share as competition intensifies and the market doubles in size over the next few years.

Saudi flynas to make anenginepurchase of over $6 billion
Saudi low-cost carrier, "flynas", was confirmed to be supplied with new engines for its fleet through an agreement signed with DFM International at a worth of $6.3 billion.Under the deal, the Saudi airline is to purchase LEAP-1A so as to power its new fleet of 80 A320-neo aircraft to be delivered from 2018 onwards.It also entails flynas and DFM to abide by a long-term maintenance and service deal for the A320 new aircraft fleet. This hefty investment should hopefully inspire confidence in the airline.

Erbil airport receives first int’l flight following months of air embargo
A Saudi plane landed Monday at the Erbil International Airport (EIA) to be the first flight to arrive at the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region since Baghdad lifted an air embargo it imposed on Kurdish airports last week.According to Kurdistan 24, the plane took off from Saudi Arabia and landed at the Erbil airport at 7:00 am (local time). It is expected to carry Kurdish pilgrims to perform Umrah (minor pilgrimage) in Saudi Arabia.
Today’s flight put an end to a few months’ hiatus of international flights to Kurdish airports.
“Today, the first international flight will leave Erbil to Jeddah,” Mohammed Ghafour Khoshnaw, the executive head of the Saudi branch of flynas airline in Erbil, said.
Khoshnaw stated that from now on, flynas would have four weekly flights between Erbil and Jeddah.
A Fly Dubai airplane is also scheduled to land at the EIA at 4:00 pm (local time) before returning to Dubai shortly after with 164 passengers onboard.
Last week, the Iraqi government issued a decision to lift a ban it imposed on international flights to and from Kurdish airports.
The international flights to Kurdistan had been suspended after the Kurds voted overwhelmingly to break away from Iraq in a referendum held on Sept. 25, defying the central government in Baghdad as well as neighbouring Turkey and Iran who have their own Kurdish minorities.

flynas, the Saudi carrier, has announced it is to launch 14 direct flights from Saudi Arabia to major cities in Pakistan.
Announcing its expansion program, the airline said the launch is part of its ongoing program to extend its reach to Asia and open new strategic international routes.flynas will launch flights from Dammam, Riyadh, and Jeddah to both Lahore and Islamabad and will commence on Thursdaywith flights from Riyadh to Lahore. Riyadh-to-Islamabad flights will follow on Friday, along with flights from Dammam to Lahore, while flights from Jeddah to Lahore will be launched on Saturday. These flights will utilize the A320 fleet and new B767 aircraft. Bookings can be made through flynas’ smartphone application, travel agents, and the flynas website. The new routes will serve business travelers as well as ferry Hajj and Umrah visitors. They will also connect passengers to many cities within the Kingdom with flynas’ network, which includes 17 domestic destinations.

flynas to launch flights to Iraq 'within weeks'
The first time a Saudi airline has flown to Iraq in 27 years
Saudi budget carrier flynas has announced it will start operating direct flights to Iraq “within weeks”, making it the first Saudi airline to fly to Iraq in 27 years.
“Flights from main airports in the kingdom to a number of Iraqi cities will start within weeks,” the airline said in a statement carried on its website.
Saudi Arabia and Iraq cancelled all flight connections between them in 1990 when Iraq invaded the kingdom’s neighbouring ally, Kuwait.
But the two countries have held talks in the past year to try to improve bilateral relations. Also, Iraqi pilgrims were allowed to use a Saudi border land crossing during hajj last summer.
flynas did not give details of which Iraqi cities it would fly to.

flynas concludes airlift of Bauchi pilgrims
The last flight of Bauchi State pilgrims who performed this year’s hajj in Saudi Arabia landed at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport Bauchi Sunday.
The flynas plane arrived the airport with 400 pilgrims, officials of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), officials of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board as well as the representative of the national Amirul Hajj, the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleman Adamu.
Addressing newsmen at the airport, the representative of the Amirul Hajj thanked Allah for his support which made this year’s hajj successful. He commended this year’s pilgrims from Nigeria for exhibiting good conduct throughout their stay in the holy land.
Also speaking, chairman of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Alhaji Ibrahim Sa’idu Jahun, expressed joy for what he described as one of the most successful hajj operations in the state.
In his remark, the state Amirul Hajj and Speaker of the State House of Assembly Alhaji Kawuwa Shehu Damina, said two pilgrims both from Shira local government area died in the holy land.
Answering questions from journalists, the Executive Secretary of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Alhaji Abdullahi Magaji Hardawa, said only a female pilgrim from Tafawa Balewa local government area was left behind in Mecca because she lost her passport.

Saudi Arabian national carrier flynas has launched its new service from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Kingdom of Bahrain, with the first of its 3 x weekly flights from Riyadh landing at Bahrain International Airport on 1 December 2015 at 4:00pm.
Highlighting the pioneering low-cost carrier’s success in continuously growing its operations, the new service to Bahrain expands flynas’ reach to 26 destinations throughout the region.
Bahrain is also the third destination to be added to the flynas GCC network after Dubai and Kuwait.

flynas annonuced it had signed an agreement with Airbus for 60 A320neo Family aircraft
In addition to the 60 aircraft, flynas has converted 20 A320ceo from a previous order to A320neo bringing the airline’s total firm order to 80 A320neo. The deliveries are scheduled to take place during 2018-2026. flynas, an all Airbus operator, currently has 26 A320ceo in service. Launched in 2007, the airline has successfully operated over 260,000 flights and carried more than 30 million passengers in the last ten years.

Leading low-cost airlines of Saudi Arabia and Turkey have signed a codeshare agreement to offer their guests connections on both airlines’ networks. With the new agreement, flynas guests from Riyadh and Jeddah can fly to Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Hatay and Trabzon via Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen.
While Pegasus guests can now fly to Riyadh and Jeddah via Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen.

flynas enquire about new aircraft
Saudi Arabia’s low-cost carrier flynas is talking to Airbus Group SE, Boeing Co. and Bombardier Inc. about a potential order for 100 new aircraft, after the carrier posted a profit in 2015 for the first time in its history. The airline is considering 60 new planes in the next five years with an option for 40 more. It’s considering the Airbus A320 Neos, Boeing 737 Maxs and Bombardier CS300 aircraft and expects to decide on the order this year.
