What is a direct flight?
The phrase 'direct flight' means something a bit different in the airline industry than it probably does to you and me. A direct flight is any flight between two points that doesn't change flight numbers. This means that even though we call it a direct flight, there may be one or stops at intermediate points. Flights with no intermediate stops are normally called non-stop flights.
Unfortunately, it's not always possible to get a non-stop flight to where you want to go. But, if time is of the essence, we can help you find the flight with the shortest journey time so you can get to your destination as quickly as possible. Simply select our 'Fastest Flight' filter to find the flight with the earliest arrival time. Here's how you do it:
How to make a direct flight reservation with Alternative Airlines
STEP 1
Search for your chosen flight as normal with Alternative Airlines:
STEP 2
On this page, you'll see all available flights for this route. By default, Alternative Airlines displays the lowest price flights first. Locate the 'Sort By' drop-down list found on the left of your screen.
STEP 3
From the 'Sort By' drop-down list, select 'Fastest Journey Time'.
STEP 4
There you have it! Now, you'll be able to search with the fastest journey flights displaying first.

American Airlines launches new non-stop flights to Philadelphia
American Airline will now fly non-stop from Will Rogers World Airport, Oklahoma, to Philadelphia International Airport. From this week, the two new flights have been put on sale, in a bid to increase connectivity between the Northeast and trans-Atlantic. The move is integral for Oklahoma business travellers, who will see this new non-stop Eats Coast service as a massive corporate opportunity, as they will save over two hours in journey times. The first flight departs at 5:45 a.m. to make northeast connections in the morning, and the second is at 10:52 a.m. to make transatlantic connections in the afternoon. Flights will depart from Philadelphia at 9:10 p.m. and 11:44 p.m. You will now be able to make this non-stop flight reservation through Alternative Airlines.
