About CR Aviation
CR Aviation is a tourist airline based in Mozambique. The airline has a network of connecting domestic scheduled services to all the best touristic destinations within Mozambique and across the border into Kruger National Park in South Africa. From its base Maputo Airport, Mozambique CR Aviation provides daily scheduled flights to Bazaruto. Medjumbe, Ibo and Matemo, on the weekend’s flights to Ponta do Ouro, Inhaca and Machangulo.
CR Aviation was established in 2012 and operates 12 small aircraft ranging from 14 - 19 seats. The carrier now provides daily scheduled services to 5 destinations and during the busiest periods of the year carries over 1,000 passengers per month. CR Aviation currently employs 30 staff of whom 15 are pilots.
CR Aviation Hub Airport
Maputo International Airport is the airport hub of CR Aviation. It is 3kms out of the centre of Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique. It mostly services other African nations with airlines such as Kaya Airlines, but performs some intercontinental flights via Turkish Airlines, TAP Portugal and Qatar. Maputo International is the largest airport in Mozambique and the largest airport that CR Aviation flies to and from.
The airport is split into two terminals — one for domestic flights and one for international flights. As CR Aviation currently only flies domestic routes, the airline solely uses the Domestic Terminal to operate services to and from.
CR Aviation Baggage
Carry-on Baggage
The baggage allowance for CR Aviation flights is 15kg. This Is inclusive of carry-on baggage. The maximum weight for carry-on baggage is 5kg on all CR Aviation flights.
Checked Baggage
The checked baggage allowance for CR Aviation flights is 15kg. However, the 15kg allowance also applies to any carry-on baggage a passenger may have. For example, if a passenger wishes to bring 5kg of carry-on baggage, this would leave them with a baggage allowance of 10kg for checked baggage.
If passengers have significant excess baggage, it is recommended they book a 'freight' seat at the normal fare, which permits confirmed carriage of an extra 75 kgs.
Over Weight Baggage
CR Aviation will usually allow baggage to weigh up to 2kg more than the baggage allowance. However, this is space on the aircraft and if the aircraft is able to fly with the additional weight.
Soft Baggage
Due to limited space on the aircraft, CR Aviation requires passengers to bring soft luggage as to be able to store all passengers baggage on the aircraft.
CR Aviation Check-In
Online Check-In
CR Aviation is yet to offer online check-in on any of their flights.
Airport Check-In
To check-in for a CR Aviation flight, passengers must visit a CR Aviation check-in agent and present them with the relevant travel documents at the airport of departure.
