Airport Check-In
Passengers can check-in for their Azerbaijan Airlines booking at the airport check-in counters. Check-in at the airport closes 60 minutes before scheduled flight departure time, so please make sure you arrive at the airport with plenty of time.

Azerbaijan Airlines launches more links with Suadi Arabia
Azerbaijan Airlines has plans to increase its connections with Saudi Arabia, operating flights to four destinations in the country from its base in Azerbaijan. These are in addition to recently announced weekly flights from Baku to the Saudi capital of Riyadh and the eastern provincial capital of Dammam, both of which will start in June. Both cities will be served by Airbus A320s. We are unsure as of yet how frequent the new flights will be, although they are supposed to attract business and leisure travellers alike.

Azerbaijan Airlines adds Lankaran - Moscow route
Azerbaijan Airlines has decided to add a seasonal service to Moscow, where the airline has scheduled a Lankaran – Moscow Vnukovo route. An Airbus A320 aircraft will operate this route on Fridays between June and September to compensate for additional demand during the summer months.

Azerbaijan Airlines orders 5 Boeing 787 Dreamliners
Azerbaijan Airlines President Jahangir Askerov announced an order for five Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner jets at the Dubai Airshow on Sunday. There is also comfirmation of two wide-body freighters from the U.S. planemaker. The total value of the deal at current list prices, which also includes a landing gear maintenance agreement, is valued at around 1.9 billion dollars, a Boeing executive said.

Azerbaijan Airlines to launch flights to Bangkok
From 29th October 2017, Azerbaijan Airlines will launch flights from Baku to Bangkok. This is the first direct route from the capital of Azerbaijan to the South East Asia. Passengers can travel between two capitals with Boeing 767 aircrafts. Baku – Bangkok flights will be realized on Tuesdays and Sundays, while return flights from Bangkok will be on Wednesdays and Mondays.
As the carrier is ready to launch the first South East Asian route, a new promotion is kicked off. When buying an air ticket from 10 to 29 October 2017, the cost of the air ticket for Baku-Bangkok-Baku flights will be 599 euros, including all taxes and fees. The dates of flights within the campaign: from October 29, 2017 to March 1, 2018. These flights will be carried out on comfortable Boeing-767 liners. The ticket includes free baggage allowance (up to 23 kg) and a full range of cold and hot meals.
The winter months are considered the most favorable for visiting Bangkok. In the capital of Thailand, it is worth to go for attractions and nightlife, entertainment can be found here for every taste. Thai cuisine is another reason why many tourists are eager to get to Bangkok. Exotic, unusual and easily accessible Thai food can satisfy even the most demanding gourmet.

Azerbaijian Airlines announced it intends to fly two million passengers till later 2016
Hajiyev added that at present, AZAL fleet consists of 23 aircraft and the number of aircraft is expected to be increased by 12 in the next four years. In addition, Azerbaijian Airlines announced a new campaign for flights on the route from Baku to Tel Aviv.
AZAL's flights from Baku to Tel Aviv are operated twice a week with comfortable Airbus A319 and A320 airliners. Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) increases the number of regular flights from Baku to Moscow, to Vnukovo Airport. Henceforth, flights from Heydar Aliyev International Airport to Vnukovo Airport will be carried out twice a day from March 2017.

Azerbaijan Airlines' hub Heydar Aliyev International Airport serviced 391 thousand passengers in July this year, which is 27% higher than the same period of last year. Airport’s passenger traffic increased mainly due to the international air traffic. Heydar Aliyev International Airport transported 302 thousand passengers through domestic flights (an increase of 8% compared to 2015), of which 292 thousand accounts for the Baku-Nakhchivan route.
Azerbaijian Airlines' VIP Club offers an exclusive and attentive service, with first class cabin features with fully-flat beds with in-seat power supply for laptops and other electronic devices. Priority check-in counters at the airport and priority boarding with fast track and personal assistance services and a generous free baggage allowance of 3 pieces weighing up to 32 kg each and 3 carry-on baggage weighing up to 8 kg are included in VIP club ticket.
Check-in for Azerbaijan Airlines flights begins 20 hours prior to departure at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport; at the other airports, generally, 2 hours before scheduled departure time.
Check-in usually closes 40 minutes before departure.
