About Air Caraïbes
Air Caraïbes is a French airline and is the regional airline of the French Caribbean of Guadeloupe and Martinique. The airline is headquartered in Les Abymes in Guadeloupe.
Air Caraïbes was founded because there was a growing necessity to cover the demand of the French Caribbean territories, a regional service was needed. By the year 2000 there was a merger of several local airlines like Air Guadeloupe, Air Martinique, Air Saint Barthélémy, Air Saint Martin and in2002, the company flew 445,000 passengers and had €68 million in revenues. It is part of the Carib Sky Alliance, an airline alliance which comprises in addition to Air Caraïbes the following airlines: Leeward Islands Air Transport and Winair (Windward Islands Airways). The company was founded in July 2000 through the merger of various local airlines.
Air Caraïbes flies to many destinations including Santo Domingo, Paris, Cayenne, Port-au-Prince, Pointe-a-Pitre, Grand Case, Philipsburg and Castries. Overall, Air Caraïbes flies to just under 15 destinations
Air Caraïbes has a codeshare agreement with Liat and comprises of 1Airbus A330-200, 1 Airbus A330-300, 1 ATR 72-500 and ATR 72-600 in its fleet.
Long distance international operations started in 2003 when a Paris - Guadelope and Martinique flight started service with an Airbus A330-200. The French airline Air Caraïbes, represented in the Dominican Republic for General Air Services, participated in the celebration of the "Week of France", allowing customers to know closely the time to strengthen business relations with several French companies established in the country and sectors of the Dominican public life.

Carry-on Baggage
Passengers are only allowed one piece of luggage per person, with maximum dimensions 55 x 40 x 20cm. Weight allowance depends on the route travelling:
Passengers travelling regionally (Fort-de-France, St.Martin, St. Barthelemy, Pointe-a-Pitre, St. Lucia, Port-au-Prince or Santo Domingo) passengers are permitted one piece of luggage weighing a maximum of 5kg.
For Transatlantic routes, passengers are permitted one 12kg bag, with the addition of a personal item such as a small handbag, laptop bag or coat.
Checked Baggage
Passengers checked baggage allowance is dependent on the class of travel and route travelling. This will be indicated on your travel memo or ticket.

Online Check-In
Air Caraïbes offer online check-in for their passengers on the Air Caraïbes online check-in page. Online check-in commences 48 hours before departure, closing 1 hour before.
Airport Check-In
Passengers must report to the airport for check-in to confirm their attendance on the flight. Opening and closing times of the airport check-in desks are as follows:
For all transatlantic flights, check-in will open 4 hours before departure, closing 1.5 hours before departure.
For regional flights, the following rules apply:
- For regional flights from of a medium haul, check-in will open 2 hours before departure.
- For regional flights from of a short haul, check-in will open 1.5 hours before departure.
- For regional flights from Santo Domingo, check-in will close 1hour before departure.
- For regional flights from Pointe-a-Pire / Fort-de-France / St. Martin / St. Lucia, check-in will close 30 minutes before departure.

Air Caraïbes and French bee to lease two more A350s
Air Caraïbes and French bee, both owned by France's Groupe Dubreuil, plan to add two new A350-900s on lease, on top of the two A350s they already operate.
The aircraft are on lease from Air Lease Corporation, with Air Caraïbes taking delivery of one A350 in July 2018 and the other headed to sister carrier French Bee in June 2019.
French bee will also transfer one A330-300, serial 1727, to Air Caraïbes, who will remove two A330-300s, serials 965 and 1021, from its fleet. In December 2019, Air Caraïbes will take delivery of its first A350-1000.
Additionally, one A330-200 will continue to act as a reserve aircraft.
Overall, the Group will therefore take delivery of three new A350s in 2019.

Bahamasair, Air Caraïbes sign interline agreement
“Air Caraïbes took over the route from Paris to San Salvador that Club Med was operating as a charter. In November 2016, Air Caraïbes began servicing the Paris-San Salvador route with regularly scheduled flights, and since that time we have been encouraging Air Caraïbes to operate a direct flight to Nassau,” she said.
“So we met with Air Caraïbes and Bahamasair and now French passengers can book on Air Caraïbes for Paris to San Salvador, but also it will allow Bahamians to travel to Paris.”
The flights will be offered every Thursday. Once passengers arrive in San Salvador, they are able to travel to Nassau via Bahamasair and to any other islands of the Bahamas.
Gautier says the response has been tremendous.
“The French market is increasing year after year. We are expanding with our digital campaign. France is the first market in continental Europe after the UK and we are growing month after month, so we are now in need of more direct options to reach the islands of the Bahamas because we were only using British Airways, which we will continue to use. The need for a Paris-to-Nassau option was very strong,” she said.
Air Director of Commercial Flights of the Caribbean François Bonnet said the demand for the Bahamas is high.
Since its initial agreement, Air Caraïbes has brought over 15,000 French passengers to the archipelago.
“We now have demand from the French tour operators and the European tour operators. We are now waiting for more passengers. The hotel industry here is good and the hotels’ standards are very high quality. The quality of service is high. The French really enjoy the Bahamas for diving and parasailing and that’s why we are expecting more and more passengers on our planes,” Bonnet said.

Air Caraïbes announces in 4Q17 Paris - St. Maarten service changes
Air Caraïbes in the 4th quarter of 2017 is adjusting service on Paris Orly – St. Maarten route. From 28OCT17 to 16DEC17, the airline will be operating Paris Orly – St. Maarten – Pointe-a-Pitre – Paris Orlyrouting, once a week. A330-200 aircraft will operate this triangle routing.

Air Caraïbes strengthens its lines between Saint-Martin, Guadeloupe and Martinique.
Air Caraïbes is stepping up its Caribbean / Saint-Martin Grand Case route of six weekly rotations, representing an additional 840 seats, an increase of 22.2% compared to the program last summer. On Friday and Sunday, Air Caraïbes passengers are offered up to six daily frequencies. Between the West Indies and Santo Domingo, the company increases its capacity by 66.7% or 280 additional seats. Air Caraïbes proposes a second rotation every Thursday and a new one on Friday, bringing to four the number of weekly flights operated on the line during the period.
Air Caraïbes took delivery in December 2016 of a new ATR 72-600 nine. This aircraft complements the existing fleet of the company's inter-island network, now composed of 4 short-haul aircraft. A second new aircraft, type ATR 72-600, will be delivered in 2017.

Air Caraïbes annnounced with Air France it had resumed limited French Guiana operations
On April 3rd, Air Caraïbes operated a direct flight from Paris Orly for Cayenne, with a stopover at Fort de France on the return leg for refuelling and crew change. Air France had cancelled its direct services until April 4, due to concerns over refuelling. However, it will run a flight from Orly to Cayenne on Wednesday April 5 aboard a B777-200ER, with a technical stop at Paramaribo Int'l on the return leg. Other airlines which operate from Cayenne are Surinam Airways (PY, Paramaribo Int'l), which flies to Belém and Paramaribo Int'l; and Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras (AD, Campinas Viracopos), which flies to Belem and Fortaleza. These operators have been largely unaffected by the protests.

Other airlines which operate from Cayenne are Surinam Airways (PY, Paramaribo Int'l), which flies to Belém and Paramaribo Int'l; and Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras (AD, Campinas Viracopos), which flies to Belem and Fortaleza. These operators have been largely unaffected by the protests. In May 2017, The airline Air Caraïbes is deploying its transatlantic flight program dedicated to the summer season, enriched by new developments and marked by the arrival of its first two Airbus A350-900.
The Caribbean airline based at Pointe-à-Pitre-Guadeloupe Pôle Caraïbes announced on 2 May 2017 that it offers up to " 3 rotations per day on its core network ", ie the lines between Paris-Orly and the Guadeloupe or Martinique. His two new A350-900 for 389 seats (18 business class passengers in Madras, 45 in Premium Caribbean and 326 in Economy Sun ), positioned on the two roads, will offer up to 7% additional capacity.
Air Caraïbes recalls that it is the first French company to offer to travel this summer in A350. The company's winter program is renewed this summer with two weekly rotations between Paris and Cuba: a first rotation on Friday with a direct return flight between Orly-Sud and Havana, and a second rotation on Tuesday including a stopover In Santiago de Cuba on the same route.

Club Med and Air Caribbean signeda new partnership for service to the area, including the Bahamas
The carrier will operate on behalf of the tour operator flight per week from November 10 to San José and its Columbus Isle village, renovated in 2016. It replaces XL Airways. Air Caraïbes Atlantique (CAJ, Paris Orly) is tentatively planning to commence revenue A350-900operations during the first quarter of next year. Configured with eighteen in Business Class, forty-five in Premium Economy, and 326 in Economy Class, the twinjet will initially be deployed on 4x weekly Paris Orly-Pointe à Pitre, Guadeloupe and a 3x weekly Paris Orly-Fort de France, Martinique services effective March 1.
Air Caraïbes reported its operating profit almost doubled from EUR21 million in 2014 to EUR41 million in 2015, on the back of a 6.8% year-on-year increase in revenue to EUR378 million. Overall passenger numbers increased 3% to 1.265 million, boosted by a 5.3% increase in long-haul passengers to 905,000. Regional passengers reached 360,000.

Air Caraïbes took delivery of its first Airbus A350-900, making it the first French airline to operate the type
The aircraft, on lease from Netherlands-based AerCap, is scheduled to make its first commercial flight to Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe, and Fort-de-France, Martinique, on March 2. Air Caraïbes plans to operate its A350-900 alongside the A330s it already has in service on Paris-Caribbean routes.
